America's Stonehenge welcomes bus tours and other large groups to explore the mysteries of this ancient hilltop!
Visiting America's Stonehenge is a great way to explore New Hampshire's history and natural beauty all in one location. A half-mile loop trail brings guests through a variety of prehistoric structures, archaeological sites, and scenic woodlands. There are multiple ways to enjoy this site as a group, including self-guided and guided tours.
To book your group's next adventure, or to learn more about our tour programs, please email us at info@stonehengeusa.com, or call (603) 893-8300.
Self-Guided Tour
A self-guided tour of America's Stonehenge is a great option to explore the site at your own pace.
This option includes paper maps with information about the site, as well as an audio tour of the site
which can be accessed either with provided media players or with the
mobile tour app on a personal mobile device.
Self-guided tours typically take between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, but be
sure to allow time to check out the museum and gift shop!
Guided Tour
Guided tours are a new addition to our bus tour program. Your group will be led through the site by our
knowledgeable museum staff who are experienced in historical research and archaeology and have been
working at this site for many years! A guided tour will allow your group to ask questions in real-time,
gain access to sites not on the standard tour, and learn about the history of America's Stonehenge
from a professional historian.
A guided tour typically lasts 90 minutes, though it can be arranged to fit your
group's schedule. Be sure to allow time to visit the museum's artifact collection and gift shop!
Amenities
America's Stonehenge is proud to provide a number of additional sites and amenities for our guests,
from scenic gardens to basic necessities.
Serenity: Our scenic pollinator garden, open from spring to fall, is a
beautiful area in which to sit and relax. This landscaped space boasts comfortable lawn seating and
a short trail through the flowerbeds, as well as diverse and colorful plants that both our guests
and local pollinators can enjoy! The garden is a pleasant alternative for guests who may not be able
to walk the entire tour.
Artifact Room: This room within the Visitor Center houses artifacts and
informational displays. Many of these artifacts were discovered right here on Mystery Hill. Other
pieces, like the dugout canoe, also represent the ancient history of the region.
Gift Shop: Located in the Visitor Center, our gift shop has a variety
of souvenirs, apparel, books, jewelry, and novelties to commemorate your visit to America's Stonehenge.
Here, you can find our latest book America's Stonehenge: The Stone Ruins of New Hampshire
to learn more about the archaeology and history of this site, or a souvenir magnet featuring the site's
astronomical alignments!
Restrooms: These facilities are only located in the visitor center.
The half-mile trail through the site is never far from the Visitor Center, so you are also never
very far from the restrooms.
Picnic Area: While America's Stonehenge does not serve food on site
(we have a limited number of snacks and beverages in the gift shop), we do have an outdoor picnic area
next to the Visitor Center where a packed lunch may be enjoyed. Staff can also recommend many local
restaurants!
Trail Conditions
The trail through America's Stonehenge is a half-mile loop. It is not paved, and meanders through
the woods. The trail is steadily sloping with uneven terrain and some steps. Inclement weather
may cause some slippery surfaces on the trail. We strongly recommend wearing supportive
footwear like sneakers or hiking boots/shoes. The majority of your visit to America's Stonehenge
will be outdoors, so appropriate clothing for the weather is also recommended.
Bus Parking
There is ample parking for large buses on site. If it is a particularly busy day at the museum,
please allow our staff to direct you to a parking area to allow space for other visitors and emergency
vehicles.
There are several service stations nearby. The Sunoco at 1 Hall Farm Road in
Atkinson, NH is 1.3 miles away and has both gasoline and diesel in bays accessible to large
commercial vehicles.
Inclement Weather
America's Stonehenge rarely closes due to poor weather conditions. If your tour
has been cancelled due to weather, or if you have decided that the weather would make your visit
unenjoyable, please call us at (603) 893-8300. If you do need to cancel because of the weather, we will work with you to
reschedule your visit.
Payment
Payment for your group is not due until the date that you arrive, and no advanced
deposit is necessary. Payment at the door is accepted by credit-card, cash, digital wallets, or business check.
For the ultimate convenience, America's Stonehenge can send an invoice by email that can be paid directly
with a credit card at any time leading up to the date of your visit.
