We are happy to offer discounted admission to scouts, homeschool groups, and summer camps. Upon arrival
we have students watch a ten-minute informational video to give them a brief history of the site.
Chaperones will be given comprehensive tour guide maps to explain the features of the site.
A picnic area is available for lunches. We suggest bringing a bagged lunch as our snack bar consists mainly of candy, trail mix, water, and soda. Please plan on 2-3 hours to fit in all activities.
Hands-On Kid's Dig
Our non-sensitive dig pits are available for reserved school groups. Students will dig in a grid and use our archaeology tools to excavate various artifacts. This is an educational and fun hands-on activity. Some of the "artifacts" that students may uncover include arrowheads, polished rocks, fossils, bones, pottery, shells, and more! Students are allowed to take home any polished stones, arrowheads, and stone tools that they find. Students spend approximately 45 minutes in the dig pit. The dig pit is only available for preschool through grade 7. A minimum of 20 paid student admissions are required - no exceptions.
We offer printable worksheets to be distributed in class and completed during a tour of the site at America's Stonehenge. Please visit the learning center for these teaching accompaniments. If there is something you would like to see that we do not currently offer, please let us know so that we can incorporate it into our program.
Our alpacas are here for your enjoyment. Students can meet and learn about these fascinating animals.
Before touring the site, we have students watch a 10 minute informational video in our theater. This video helps students to better understand what they will be seeing on our site. We also have a 30 minute version, which is available for loan to classrooms. If the extended video is something that you are interested in, please give us a call or e-mail us at least two weeks prior to your visit.
Reservations are required for group discounts
